Lagos State Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye has commended GTBank for its contributions to youth development, especially the sponsorship of the State’s Principals’ Cup Competition which has  uplift the standard of sporting activities in the state.
While expressing the State’s gratitude during the bank’s courtesy visit to her office,   Barrister Oladunjoye added that the bank’s continued sponsorship of the competition will definitely cement the relationship between the bank and the State government, in addition to engendering progress in the development of education and sports in the state.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Omolara Erogbogbo, expressed gratitude on behalf of the State Government for the bank’s adoption of two Lagos schools and sponsorship of the Principals’ Cup competition since last year during the visit.
In her address, the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Lola Odedina who equally led the visiting team, said the purpose of the visit was to appreciate the State Government for giving the bank the opportunity to support the state in raising the standard of education and sports in the state and thus in Nigeria as a whole.
While noting that the team’s visit was to strengthen its partnership with the state on the Principals’ Cup Competition, which is set to identify more talents in the state’s schools. Mrs. Odedina reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to keep up the competition’s sponsorship as well as render support in other areas where the state may require such.
The commitment she said was in response to the passionate call of His Excellency, Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, who asked all to partner the state in the development of our schools for a brighter and rewarding future for all.
She thereafter thanked the ministry on behalf of the bank for its support during the demise of the bank’s Late Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer,
